SUMMARY:Abolitionists of Southeast Minnesota
DESCRIPTION:This program explores the role of abolitionists who migrated west in the decades leading up to the U.S. Civil War\, including those who settled in Minnesota during the 1850s. Project Get Outdoors Coordinator and Naturalist Sara Holger shares stories gathered through oral history interviews with descendants of abolitionists who lived in southeast Minnesota\, some of whom were involved in the Underground Railroad before slavery was abolished. \nThis program is sponsored by the MN Legacy Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
