Mary Rostad joined the resistance movement during WWII, serving in Belgium and later France, as a courier of underground documents. Adopting the code name “Squirrel,” she walked over one thousand miles in frigid temperatures, far away from her home and her family to report on the movement of German troops. After the war she settled in Houston, MN with her husband, Allen Rostad. Darryle Clott, a nationally recognized Holocaust educator and close friend of Mary’s, will share this story and the importance of Holocaust remembrance.
