Joni Welda is a Master Naturalist and a bluebirder for over 40 years. In the early 1990’s, she was the La Crosse County Coordinator for the Bluebird Restoration Association of Wisconsin (BRAW) giving seminars and helping groups establish Bluebird trails. She was on the board of the Minnesota Bluebird Recovery Program (BBRP , a member of the National Bluebird Society (NABS) and still is an avid Bluebirder today. She has successfully fledged thousands of bluebirds with the help of proper nestboxes, good habitat and regular monitoring in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
