Come hear the story brought to life through music! Larkspur Reed Trio seeks to engage participants through active listening activities and theme recognition. Their storytime programs are enjoyed by all ages, from babies to kids at heart. The pairing of music and stories is exciting for anyone and creates a memory that will last!
Featuring Stephanie Carlson, oboe; Susan Miranda, English horn; and Amy McCann, clarinet: the trio has a strong passion for music education working to reach youth around the world through live performance and educational videos. With a grant from the Minnesota Regional Arts Council the trio collaborated with author Alexandra Alessandri and composer Alejandra Odgers to create a brand new musical story with the children’s story Isabel and Her Colores Go To School.
About the Book: Isabel is trying to find her place in a class where
she does not speak the same language as the rest of the children.
Although she cannot communicate through words, she finds a friend in Sarah, another girl in the class.
Join us outside at the city lot behind the library. In the case of rain, the program will move indoors at the library.
This program is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the La Crescent Library.
